Product Description
“Black” in Japanese
A single piece of solid hardwood, hand-charred using Yakisugi - the centuries-old Japanese technique of preserving wood through fire.
The charring isn’t decorative. It hardens the surface, reveals the natural grain, and creates a deep carbon layer that helps repel water, resist bacteria, and minimise staining. Over time, KURO develops even more character through use.
At 45 x 30 x 3cm, KURO is our largest and heaviest board to date. Thick, weighty, and intentionally oversized, it’s designed for slow dinners, heavy prep, shared meals, and statement kitchens.
No unnecessary curves. No wasted space. Just a bold slab of blackened hardwood built to be used daily, and left on display.
