Our limited collection of handcrafted, Japanese-inspired cutting boards have been created in partnership with skilled artisans—real people dedicated to crafting products that bring connection, functionality and beauty to your kitchen.
Shou Sugi Ban
Shou Sugi Ban, a traditional Japanese wood preservation technique, involves carefully charring the surface of wood to enhance its durability and beauty.
This age-old technique not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also ensures that our cutting boards are exceptionally durable, easy to clean, and ideal for the demands of modern kitchens.
Sustainable
Our process begins with plantation-grown hardwood or sourced offcuts, carefully cut into smaller blocks. Through expert craftsmanship, these blocks are transformed into beautiful boards, each piece telling the story of sustainability and an artisans craft.
I’m delighted to update my review. The CEO of ARTSN Studio responded immediately to me personally and worked hard to make things right, following through on his promise to send me a replacement board. The new cutting board is absolutely beautiful, arrived in perfect condition, and works like dream. The water just beads off and I love the feel of it under my knife. It’s perfect!
What impressed me even more, however, was the customer service. I don’t think I have ever experienced such direct, personal, and highly responsive support from a company. ARTSN Studio truly stands behind its products and cares about its customers. I am officially a fan!

We were leery at first … worried about the charcol getting into our knife chopping and then we used it and it really has become our favorite chef tool.

I love cutting beets on this which don't stain it! Knowing that it's a solid piece of wood - meaning there is no glue to expose my family to - and that it's made in a traditional method is so comforting. I highly recommend this board.

I love these Dougu boards ( I got the classic and the smaller one.) and use them every day! They are beautiful for displaying cheese board and functional for chopping board. Clean up is a breeze. Don't hesitate if you are considering as I highly recommend!

I bought the boards for my wife for mothers days and the boards were delayed due to quality control. But all the while the owner was in contact explaining that he wasn't happy with the product and wouldn't ship it. He gave us new delivery dates and they boards arrived on time.

These boards fill a void that has been lacking in the cutting board market, in my opinion. The cutting board in general is an item that many people take for granted, and don't bother trying to discover one that not only looks good, but works extremely well. So far, no cutting lines, no linnger smells, easy to clean and has design integrity, if just hanging out on the counter top.
I highly reccomend purchasing any one the designs.. Certainly more than one!

I bought the Shou Sugi Ban two board set. They are easy to clean and it doesn’t damage our knives. They are not heavy so easy to carry with food on. I like them so much I have bought more as a present.

The board is a great addition to my black kitchen. It doubles as a cutting board & a serving platter. Very easy to clean. Cutting lines are very subtle but add a character aspect to the board. I have a smaller one & a large one. Both sizes very useful.

I changed over to wooden cutting boards about 5 years ago and haven’t regretted it. The only issue is that some things like beetroot stain Hinoki and other wood boards. This one is dark and has extra protection from the artisanal searing that is done. It’s perfect for anything really and has become a kitchen prep favourite. Easy to use, easy to clean. Looks brilliant in the kitchen, with my dark bench tops, almost like I’ve had it designed to fit. These boards are lovely. Great value for the quality & craftsmanship. I’ll be getting more for gifts to my epicurean friends and family.
