Product Description

The Shoku Pro ("Master Artisan" in Japanese) is our largest traditional rectangular shou sugi ban cutting board. At 45cmx 25cm (17.72" x 9.84") with full straight edges, this board provides maximum usable surface area for serious home chefs who demand restaurant-quality tools.

Unlike the Kura (same length but with rounded end), the Shoku Pro's straight edges give you corner-to-corner prep space. When you're cooking complex recipes or preparing for guests, every square inch matters.

Perfect for:
✓ Professional home cooking
✓ Large meal prep sessions
✓ Holiday cooking (Thanksgiving turkey carving)
✓ Multiple dishes simultaneously
✓ Sunday batch cooking
✓ Culinary enthusiast workflows
✓ Teaching and demonstration

Why size matters for serious cooks:
The 17.72" x 9.84" dimensions provides a LOT of prep surface, 35% more than standard boards. When you're working through complex recipes, this extra space means fewer interruptions, better organization, and more efficient cooking. This is the board for people who take their cooking seriously.

Built for those who cook like they mean it...

Our Story

Our limited collection of handcrafted, Japanese-inspired cutting boards have been created in partnership with skilled artisans—real people dedicated to crafting products that bring connection, functionality and beauty to your kitchen.

Shou Sugi Ban

Shou Sugi Ban, a traditional Japanese wood preservation technique, involves carefully charring the surface of wood to enhance its durability and beauty.

This age-old technique not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also ensures that our cutting boards are exceptionally durable, hygienic, and ideal for the demands of modern kitchens.

Sustainable

Our process begins with responsibly sourced timber and reclaimed logs, carefully cut into smaller blocks. Through expert craftsmanship, these blocks are transformed into beautiful boards, each piece telling the story of sustainability and an artisans craft.

    Beautiful chopping board

I find it easy to use and wipe down. No black rub off and it feel so much better to use than my plastic ones. Brilliant thing. Thanks

I just wanted to confirm will the black eventually stop rubbing off onto tea towels and washing clothes?

    Shoku Pro Cutting board

Unfortunately the black board works very much like a giant black pencil on our ivory coloured ceramic bench top. Cant use it without

a silicon mat underneath. Looks great though!!!

The board has two defects on the beveled edges.

I sent photos to the company with a mesage and no response. For a cutting board over $100 I expected more. The shape and style is beautiful.
